It is with great excitement that we invite you to join us for an intimate dinner dedicated to local whiskey and rum on Sunday, June 5th at the America Eats Tavern. We have again partnered with their amazing chef, Nate Waugaman, to bring together a wonderful six-course dinner, highlighting seasonal and local ingredients, each paired with a unique whiskey or rum from local distilleries. The evening will kick-off with a cocktail reception at 6:00pm featuring passed bites and specialty cocktails, and the dinner will begin at 7:00pm.
To make this a truly exciting evening, we have brought together several special guests:
John Foster, Director of Sales and Distiller for Smooth Ambler Distillery, will talk about their Revelation Rum, which hails from the Caribbean, and a brand new product that hasn’t even hit store shelves.
Ben Lyon, Master Distiller from Lyon Distillery, will speak about their Dark Rum and about an overproofed rum he is crafting specifically for this event that is aging in French oak barrels.
Edgardo Zuniga, Master Distiller of Montgomery County’s own Twin Valley Distillery, will discuss the founding of the distillery in Rockville and how their Raven Maryland Bourbon stays true to those Maryland roots.
Max Hames, Assistant Distiller from One Eight Distillery, will explain their Untitled Series Whiskeys, and specifically, Untitled Whiskey No.2.
We hope that you will be able to join us for a guided adventure through the early history of spirits in America - both Rum and Whiskey!
