The Original Corporate Virtual Whiskey Tasting
Founded in 2014, the Whiskey Library is an education firm in Washington, DC, offering bespoke whiskey tasting and cocktail education events in both virtual and in-person formats. We provide a best-in-class experience when you need to impress clients, for virtual large-scale conferences, office team building, summer associate training, and more.
Since our founding in 2014, we have worked with some of the best and most recognized names in Scotch, bourbon, and other whiskeys worldwide, including The Macallan, Heaven Hill, and The GlenDronach; and we’ve made custom blends and barrel picks with Kilchoman, Compass Box, Elijah Craig, Maker’s Mark, Whistle Pig Old World, Jack Daniels, Old Forester, and One Eight Distilling.
With a network in the hospitality industry, our team has judged cocktail competitions, consulted on whiskey offerings for fine dining restaurants, and our virtual tastings have been profiled in the Washington Post.

What Makes Us Different
An Elevated Event for Business Executives
While we host tastings for diverse audiences, the majority of our attendees are C-suite executives. Our tastings are a private, collegial atmosphere where conversation and questions are encouraged—so that participants can relax and enjoy. They're never scripted and no two are exactly the same, making it an experience participants can easily join over and over.
White Glove Service
Our approach is built and refined to take the hassle of event logistics off your plate:
- We provide complementary opportunities for custom-branding, to ensure you make the biggest impact on your participants.
- We hand-check each experience box prior to shipping to make sure every participant receives the exact box you selected for your experience, no surprises or substitutions.
- Our team proactively monitors progress on shipping, and will notify you of delays in time to prevent them from becoming problems.
- The day of the event, we're always available 30 minutes early for tech checks and to connect with our hosts on any last-minute questions.
Polished, Professional Educators
Our whiskey educators are business executives themselves, at ease in senior-level settings—with deep knowledge and passion for whiskey. We weave the basics of whiskey tasting together with stories, anecdotes, and deep personal experience—so that in mixed groups of whiskey novices and connoisseurs, our time is enjoyable and engaging for everyone. Our People
Unlike in the wine industry, there’s no industry standard credential for a ‘whiskey sommelier.’ (That’s why we use the term ‘whiskey educator.’) But if there were, imagine a private Q&A and storytelling with your own personal whiskey sommelier, learning what they love about whiskey, a few finer points, and some interesting things that you didn’t know you didn’t know.
How we got started
The Whiskey Library is the brainchild of two middle and high school friends, Brian and Tim, who share their love of whiskey through education. Both started their whiskey journey on different paths, but teamed up to share their passion with others.
It goes without saying that we love bourbons, scotches, blends, ryes, single malts, wheated, Irish, corn, and just about any type of whiskey there is. But our passion goes a bit further than just trying, tasting, and enjoying great whiskies. We love sharing the knowledge of this great spirit with others. From the history of a distillery to the intricacies of how a specific type of wood in a specific climate can completely change the flavor profile of the same mash bill, we are in awe of everything.
